IRCC expanding Spousal Work Permit Eligibility

IRCC expanding Spousal Work Permit Eligibility:

Starting January 30,2023 IRCC expanding eligibility for open spousal work permit allowing spouse of principal applicant working in any TEER category (0-5) or principal applicant with open work permit including PGWP working in all skills level. This will allow spouses to reunite with their partners and start working under temporary 2 years measures announced by IRCC. This will include children at working age as well.

Starting in January 2023, through a temporary 2-year measure, Canada will expand eligibility to work in Canada to spouses and working-age children through a phased approach for workers at all skill levels.

The temporary measure will be implemented in 3 phases to ensure its successful implementation.

IRCC will start inviting 23,100 interested potential sponsors over the coming 2 weeks from the 2020 expression of interest pool in order to hit a goal of 15,000 full application.

Potential sponsors will enjoy a window of calendar days in the invitation to submit a full application.
Minimum income requirements for 2020 and 2021 is adjusted amid the pandemic.
