IRCC provided an update on 3 temporary policies affecting international students:

IRCC provided an update on 3 temporary policies affecting international students that were all set to expire at the end of 2023, including the following:


1- The waiver on the 20-hour-per-week limit on the number of hours international students are allowed to work off campus while class is in session will be extended to April 30, 2024.


2- The facilitative measure that has allowed international students to count time spent studying online towards the length of a future post-graduation work permit, as long as it constitutes less than 50% of the program of study, will continue to be in place for students who begin a study program before September 1, 2024.


3- In response to labour market disruptions during the pandemic and post-pandemic recovery, a temporary policy was introduced on 3 occasions to provide an additional 18-month work permit to post-graduation work permit holders as their initial work permit was expiring.


However, this temporary policy will not be extended further.

      IRCC announces Parents and Grandparents Program

      IRCC announces Parents and Grandparents Program:

        Starting October 8,2023 and over the period of 2 weeks IRCC will send invitation to apply for Permanent Resident for potential sponsors who submitted an expression of interest back in 2020.

        Once an invitation is sent, you will have 60 calendar days only to submit a full application.

        IRCC will issue 24,000 invitations and willing to receive 15,000 full applications from this round.

        Sponsors who get invitations and want to hire us for their parent’s application can contact us at info@mdic.ca

        IRCC announce a new pathway to reunite families and support Ukrainians:

          Starting October 23, 2023, this new pathway will provide permanent residence to those who have fled Russia’s illegal invasion and want to stay in Canada.
          Ukrainian nationals must be in Canada with temporary resident status and have one or more family members in Canada.

          Those who are eligible include Ukrainian spouses, common-law partners, parents, grandparents, siblings and children or grandchildren of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.More details to come near the launch of the program.
