Breaking News: IRCC Removes Arranged Employment Points for Express Entry:
In light of the latest IRCC announcement regarding the removal of arranged employment points for Express Entry, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some important advice our consultant, Mohamed Negmeldin shared in a recent Toronto Star interview (April 20, 2024) about the Temporary Foreign Worker Program and how to avoid falling victim to scams.
Key points he discussed:
Foreign nationals should never pay fees to secure a job offer in Canada. The responsibility for Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) and recruitment lies solely with the employer.
It’s crucial that Temporary Foreign Workers are paid fair wages that match prevailing wage. The program is designed to fill labour shortages only when no Canadian citizen or permanent resident is available for the job.
With the IRCC’s new announcement, arranged employment no longer contributes to your CRS score in Express Entry. This change creates new opportunities for skilled workers to compete more fairly in the Express Entry pool.
As of now, there are no further details on the full implementation of this change from IRCC.
We will publish all updates as soon as they are available!
